OFFICIAL TOUR CYCLING SHIRT

(Excluding Mini riders, you are welcome to purchase a cycling shirt additionally online)

LIVE ENTERTAINMENT

We have live entertainment each year to further set the mood.

GOODY BAG

Each rider receives a goody bag at registration along with a Tour guide with all the need-to-knows.

TENTED ACCOMMODATION

3-Nights tented accommodation along with 2 x comfy mattresses for Teams to share and 1 x mattress for solo riders.

KAROO MEDAL

Each finisher receives a unique handmade Karoo “medal”

ALL MEALS

All Tour meals from Stage 1 dinner to Stage 3 lunch are included. Stage 3 night meal tickets can be purchased additionally online.

MEDICAL SERVICES

Trained medical personnel at each stage to handle any emergencies that may occur.

ABLUTION FACILITIES

Enjoy permanent ablution facilities at both venues. Remember you’re in the Karoo so please use water sparingly.

EN ROUTE SUPPORT

Staffed water points serving everything from water to koeksisters! Backup vehicle to assist should you not be able to ride any further.

2018 PRE-REGISTRATION

If you’ve missed out on a 2017 Tour entry, here’s good news! You can now pre-register for the 2018 Tour and go onto the preferential registration list who will have favourable choice after past participants of entering before general public.

We’ll also be introducing a payment plan for 2018 entries, keep an eye open for this option.

SUBSTITUTIONS

Substitutions for 2017 can be done up until 7 September 2017 at an admin fee of R350 per substitution.
Either team member can enter the substitution application details.
Credit card and EFT payments will be accepted for the substitutions.
Please do not assume the substitution is complete until payment has been made and the Substitution Confirmation email has been received. All team participants including the race organiser will be notified of substitutions.

Please note shirt size changes can only be done before 21 July 2017. Later than that, substitutions will receive shirts as ordered by original entry.

To make the substitution follow these steps:
Log in to the entry system here using your ID/passport number.
You will see a summary screen of your team details.
Click the “Substitute” button.
Click on the “Add” button.
Select the person from the “Current Team Members” box whom you wish to substitute and ensure they are added to the “Members to be Substituted” box.
Click the “Confirm” button.
Enter the ID and details of the new team member.
A summary screen confirming that the substitution has taken place will appear – this means your substitution will be saved.
Payment can now be made immediately or at a later stage.
You will receive an email confirming acceptance of this substitution.
If you are the second rider, you won’t be able to pay and you will need to contact your partner to make payment.
If you are the Team Lead, click on the “Proceed to Checkout” button to make the payment.
You will receive an email confirming your substitution.

Can I change my clothing size?
Yes, but only until the 1 June 2017. Thereafter clothing orders are placed and no changes can be made.
Clothing sizes are selected during the online entry process before checking out and paying.
Please note that the new substituted participant will receive the clothing size of the initial outgoing participant, unless this is changed before 1 June 2017.

Yes, the Lormar Mini is a favourite amongst family and beginner riders to be part of the Karoo mountain biking experience. Non riders are welcome to book a meal ticket and extra accommodation for the weekend.

  • Log in to the entry system here using your ID/passport number.
  • To change your personal details click on “Edit Details”.

Our routes are very well marked but you’re welcome to ride with a GPS as we have route maps to download.

• A 3-man tent to share with your partner
• A comfy foam mattress.
• You will need to bring your sleeping bag and pillow.

Bags need to be dropped off at “Baggage Zone” between 06:30-07:30 which will then be transported to stage 2 venue to be ready for when you arrive. Same applies for stage 3.

It’s always a good idea to have your medical aid card with you. Although signal is not always available, it is wise to take your phone with you.

Yes, however please bring your own chargers.

Theft is not really a problem in the Karoo, but if it makes you feel more relaxed, then you are welcome to do so.

All substitutions made are charged at R350 per Solo or Team entry.
Entries are transferable until 7 September 2017.
Refunds up to 30 April will be refunded at 75% of entry fee.
Refunds from 1 May will be refunded at 50% of entry fee.
No refunds after 1 August 2017.
