RACE DAY

At Registration, all riders will complete the registration process. During registration, you will receive your race package. Riders must please remember to present some sort of photo identification document (driver’s license, passport or ID book) as proof of identity. If a rider has not registered, they will not be allowed to start.

ACCOMMODATION

TENTED

Complimentary tented accommodation: Each team/solo rider receives a 3-man tent erected in advance along with 2 mattresses (solo rider 1 mattress) in each. Additional tents and mattresses can be booked online.* Please note: bring own pillow and sleeping bag. Permanent shower and toilet facilities at venues.

SUPPORTERS

Additional tents and mattresses can be booked online for family and supporters at R550 per tent and R130 per mattress for the weekend which includes the brake down & setup as well as the transportation to Nieu Bethesda and back.

LUXURY

The luxury option includes 3 nights guesthouse accommodation. Night 1 & 3 at Fairview Guest Farm, Night 2 in Nieu Bethesda

All luxury options must be booked online along with your entry.
*Please note accommodation at Fairview is only available from the night of stage 1 not earlier and checkin from 14:00. Have a look at guest houses in Middelburg EC area if you want to arrive earlier.

*Please note if you book the luxury option you will forfeit your tented accommodation.
* We have pre-booked various guesthouses in Nieu Bethesda. You will be notified via email 1 week before the Tour as well as at registration which guesthouse you’ll be staying at. All accommodation is within 2km radius. Checkin at some guest houses is only from 13H00 so catch a quick shower and grab a beer in the mean time. (If a vehicle is available, they can assist in transporting your baggage to your guesthouse in Nieu Bethesda.)

EN ROUTE

Water points supply energy drinks, cold water, mini potatoes, roosterkoekies and KOEKSISTERS. Please check the route section for exact location of water points.

SUPPORTERS

Supporter meal tickets can be pre booked online @R950 pp.

BEVERAGES

Coffee and tea available at breakfast. Water, alcoholic and soft drinks will be on sale from the bar at the Main Buildings.

WATER

The race organisers supply water for the water points and consumption during each stage. All tap water in our race villages is perfectly safe for drinking, and it is recommended that riders utilise our supply of drinking water.

SUPPORT AND SERVICES

DURING THE RACE

It is advisable that you carry tubes, a master link and a replaceable dropout (remember it is unique to every bike) with you. There’s backup support should you not be able to ride any further. Medics on the route to assist incase you sustain an injury.

BIKE WASH AND SERVICE

Cycle-fix will be at the tour venue to wash your bike and handle any technical problems. *All parts will be charged for and must be paid before your bike will be released.

TENT & LUGGAGE TRANSPORT

Stage 2 finish in Nieu Bethesda. NB – all riders are required to pack their bags and deliver at baggage collection zone at 06:30-07:30. Tents, mattresses and baggage will be transported to next venue. The same guideline to follow for stage 3.

MASSAGES

Relax & recover in the soothing Karoo air. Massages can be pre-booked online.

HEALTH INFORMATION

Medical service at each stage. Trained medical personnel will also be en route to handle any emergencies. More serious cases will be transferred to a local hospital, where a more comprehensive service is available. Please remember to carry the details of your medical insurance with, in case of hospitalisation.
