EVENT DAY

Welcome to the Karoo, grab a beer or something to drink and collect your goody bag. During registration, you will receive your trail run package with your number, a runner’s guide and some other goodies. Runners must please remember to present some sort of photo identification document (driver’s license, passport or ID book) as proof of identity. If a runner has not registered, they will not be allowed to start.

You’re welcome to arrive from Friday 13:00 onwards. No accommodation is available at the venue the day prior to the event.

ACCOMMODATION

Experience starry Karoo nights underneath a spectacular clear Milky Way with complimentary tented accommodation which is included in your entry. We also have alternative accommodation options available such as luxury tents and guest farm accommodation.

Complimentary tented accommodation: Each runner receives a 3-man tent erected in advance along with a mattress in each. Additional tents and mattresses can be booked online. There are permanent shower and toilet facilities at the venue. *Please note: bring your own pillow and sleeping bag. No accommodation is available the day prior to the event.

We have luxury tented accommodation available for runners who would like to upgrade from their standard tents.

The luxury canvas tents include the following:
2 Nights accommodation
2 Luxury stretcher beds
2 Chairs
1 Lantern
R1300 (Accommodation for 2)

The guest farm options includes 2 nights accommodation at Fairview Guest Farm (Tour venue) :
Option 1: R1500 (Room for 2 including toilet in room. No shower)
Option 2: R1800 (Room for 2 including toilet & shower)
Option 3: R2400 (Shared room for 4 including toilet & shower in room)
Accommodation must be booked online along with your entry.
*No extra bedding required.

Additional tents and mattresses can be booked along with your entry online for family and supporters at R350 per tent and R100 per mattress for the weekend (3 nights).

FOOD & BEVERAGES

Hospitality at Lormar truly shows in the food. Expect Karoo lamb spitbraai, freshly baked farm bread, condensedmilk coffee at breakfast to potatoes and koeksisters at the water points. Not to mention craft beer on tap for the weekend!

Cash bar available on premises that has a selection of cold drinks, alcohol and snacks.

*Special dietary requirements: Our food are sourced and made by the local community and thus it’s difficult to cater for individual requirements but send us an email to info@lormarendurance.co.za and we can look into how we can assist.

Water points supply energy drinks, cold water, fruit, mini potatoes, roosterkoekies and KOEKSISTERS. Please check the route section for exact location of water points.

Supporter meal tickets can be pre booked online @R750pp or R400 p/kiddies meal ticket which includes the following:

Cash bar available on premises that has a selection of cold drinks, alcohol and snacks.

Condensedmilk coffee and tea available at breakfast. Water, alcoholic and soft drinks will be on sale from the bar at the Main Building.

Water are supplied for the water points and consumption during each stage. All tap water in our tour village is perfectly safe for drinking, and it is recommended that riders utilise our supply of drinking water.

SUPPORT AND SERVICES

We have backup support each day should you not be able to run any further and medical staff on the route as well as at the finish to assist incase you sustain an injury.

You’ll need a head lamp for the Night Run. It is advisable that you carry water, cellphone, whistle and emergency food with you. There’s Neutral Support at designated points on the route should you not be able to run any further. Medics at the venue to assist incase you sustain an injury.

Medical service at each stage. Trained medical personnel will also be en route to handle any emergencies that may occur. More serious cases will be transferred to any of the local hospitals, where a more comprehensive service is available. Please remember to carry the details of your medical insurance with, in case of hospitalisation.
