EVENT DAY

Welcome to the Karoo, grab a beer or something to drink and collect your goody bag. During registration, you will receive your tour package with your number, a ride guide and some other goodies. Riders must please remember to present some sort of photo identification document (driver’s license, passport or ID book) as proof of identity. If a rider has not registered, they will not be allowed to start.

You’re welcome to arrive from Friday 13:00 onwards. No accommodation is available at the venue the day prior to the event.

Registration will take place at Fairview Guest Farm: 13:00-17:30

ACCOMMODATION

Complimentary tented accommodation is included in your entry but should you wish to upgrade, there are limited luxury tents as well as guest farm accommodation available. *All accommodation options are only available from the day of the event.

Complimentary tented accommodation for 3 nights. Each rider receives a tent and single mattress erected in advance. Additional mattresses can be booked online for supporters should you like to share a tent. There are permanent shower and toilet facilities at the venue. *Please note: bring your own pillow and sleeping bag.

We have luxury tented accommodation available for riders who would like to upgrade from their standard Tour tents.

Additional tents and mattresses can be booked along with your entry online for family and supporters at R550 per tent and R150 per mattress for the weekend (3 nights).

FOOD & BEVERAGES

Hospitality at Lormar truly shows in the food. Expect Karoo lamb tjops, succulent Karan Beef steaks, freshly baked farm bread, condensedmilk coffee at breakfast to potatoes and koeksisters at the water points. Not to mention beer on tap for the weekend!

Cash bar available on premises that has a selection of cold drinks, alcohol and snacks.

Water points supply energy drinks, cold water, fruit, mini potatoes, roosterkoekies and KOEKSISTERS. Please check the route section for exact location of water points.

Supporter meal tickets can be pre booked online @R1200pp or R500 p/kiddies meal ticket which includes the following:

Cash bar available on premises that has a selection of cold drinks, alcohol and snacks.

Condensedmilk coffee and tea available at breakfast. Water, alcoholic and soft drinks will be on sale from the bar at the Main Building.

Water are supplied for the water points and consumption during each stage. All tap water in our tour village is perfectly safe for drinking, and it is recommended that riders utilise our supply of drinking water.

SUPPORT AND SERVICES

It is essential that riders start the event with a well serviced and prepared bicycle. We have backup support each day should you not be able to ride any further and medical staff on the route as well as at the finish to assist incase you sustain an injury.

It is advisable that you carry tubes, a master link and a replaceable dropout (remember it is unique to every bike) with you. There’s backup support should you not be able to ride any further.

Free bike wash available after each stage of the tour brought to you by the hard working crew from Q-Bike.

Service packages are available to book with your online entry at R400 per package for the Saturday after your ride.

What is included?
“Health Check”
All labour to get your bike back to “Race Ready” condition after the stage. Cleaning and lubrication of drive train.
Inflating of tyres and suspension to specified pressures.
Independent quality check

The following is NOT included:
Bike spare parts & components replaced.
Consumables such as tyre sealants and fork/suspension oils.
Daily washing of bikes which is performed by Q Bike.

You will also have first priorety when it comes to getting any problems on your bike fixed.

Relax & recover in the soothing Karoo air. Massage packages can be pre-booked online at R550 which includes 2 x 30min massages. Limited packages available and are booked on a first come first serve basis.

Medical service at each stage. Trained medical personnel will also be en route to handle any emergencies. More serious cases will be transferred to a local hospital, where a more comprehensive service is available. Please remember to carry the details of your medical insurance with, in case of hospitalisation.

Prize giving

At Lormar you can be sure to expect an interesting prize giving. Due to the demand of our adventurous bike riders we have set out the following prize categories for 2019. And yes we are serious (sometimes) the following categories can expect prizes like Extreme Lights, Beer hampers, Audi hampers and maybe a weekend away for two ;-). For the more serious riders we will still have very unique Karoo trophies and some great prizes.
